Kurt Cobain's Death: Photos of Nirvana Singer's Suicide Scene Released

It was 19 years ago, on April 5, 1994, that the shocking news came: Kurt Cobain had committed suicide at 27.

Today, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer has released previously unpublished photos of the Nirvana singer's suicide scene, noting, "A few [images] were published after Cobain's death in 1994. But most of them have sat in the same negative sleeves they were placed in the day they were taken."

Also to mark the sad occasion, Rolling Stone tweeted a link to its last interview with Cobain.

Cobain wasn't the only music icon to leave us way too soon. Not by a long shot. Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Amy Winehouse and many more of the world's most respected and talented musicians died long before their time.
