Will the real Amanda Bynes please stand up?

Yesterday, a woman who appeared to be the troubled starlet was snapped strolling in Manhattan and flashing a bright flame-haired 'do, leading to some oohs and aahs and hmmms about Bynes' new look.

But in a curious turn of events, the 27-year-old later took to Twitter insisting that she wasn't the gal in the pics—tweets which appear to have since been deleted.

"My hair is blonde I've never been a redhead! Somebody keeps posing as me! Check my photos on twitter for up to date pictures!" she wrote late Tuesday night.

In a follow-up tweet, she singled out the outfit and accessories seen the photos.

"Fake or real microdermals same glasses! I don't own those clothes and I'm blonde! Haha!" she added.

But should the Twitterverse call her bluff? Onlookers certainly can't deny the similarities, down to the cheek piercing, the manicured nails, rings (which she's been spotted wearing in her own twitpic selfies) and gait.

Then again, the actress is no stranger to loopy tweets. Par for the course, perhaps?

She's also no stranger to legal entanglements: Bynes remains in hot water over a string of driving mishaps last year.

She was a no-show on Tuesday for a hearing on her case for driving with a suspended license, but the case may soon be wrapping up: As E! News exclusively reported, the actress is close to striking a plea deal.
