The trailer and poster for 2 Guns are in the wild, and wouldn't you know the Hollywood tough guys are getting pretty trigger-happy in this upcoming crime drama that's ostensibly a buddy flick reminiscent of '80s cops-and-robbers hits like Lethal Weapon.
The Other Guys had nothing on these two.
Wahlberg and Washington star as Marcus "Stig" Stigman and Bobby Trench respectively, two would-be bank robbers and undercover federal operatives who, naturally, have been set up by the mob.
So amidst a slew of car chases, shootouts, explosions, and snappy wisecracks, the rival agents try to get to the bottom of things and figure out who the money belongs to. That leads them to a mysterious Papi Greco, played by Edward James Olmos, a CIA connection and a villainous Bill Paxton.
The film, directed by Icelandic helmer Baltasar Kormákur (Contraband), hits theaters on Aug. 2.
