Will closure of The Office be (slightly) delayed?

Fans of the beloved NBC comedy have started a petition asking network entertainment chief Robert Greenblatt to extend the long-running hit's upcoming series finale, which is scheduled to air on May 16. The move comes after executive producer Greg Daniels gave an interview over the weekend in which he was quoted as saying he'd like to have a bit more time than the hour NBC's currently giving him to wrap up the Dunder Mifflin saga.  "I was very excited with the footage we got," Daniels told TVLine at the show's emotional wrap party. "It's very big. I'm going to beg NBC to super-size it or extend it."

And—presto!—within a few hours, a petition started by fansite OfficeTally had gone up on Change.org. "To Robert Greenblatt, Chairman of NBC Entertainment, and the rest of the powers that be," reads the petition, "please grant Mr. Daniels' request. Because longer is better. That's what she said."

The petition has already garnered more than 4,100 supporters, including Office star Rainn Wilson, who tweeted his support to his more than 3.5 million followers. Feel like joining Dwight? You can sign the petition here: https://www.change.org/petitions/supersize-the-office-series-finale.
