Olivia Wilde is now 29 years old, and the brunette beauty cannot wait to embark on the next chapter of her life.

Namely, she's eager to marry fiancé Jason Sudeikis, and the Drinking Buddies star—who graces the cover of Marie Claire's April issue—opens up about the love of her life, crediting her 2011 divorce from Tao Ruspoli as the reason she finally found her dream man.

"I had grown up with Tao; we had just drifted. I felt I had something to prove," she says of her ex-husband, whom she met when she was just 18 years old and divorced after seven years together. "If you fall off a horse, you get back up. I am not a quitter. I hung on for as long as possible, until it was more hurtful to stay…I'm so grateful for the pain and the heartbreak. It gave me the courage to leave and brought me to the great love of my life."

Wilde also remembers being instantly attracted to her Horrible Bosses hubby-to-be and reminisces over the first time she met him at the finale of Saturday Night Live in 2011.

"I was just learning to be by myself," she admits after finalizing her divorce from Ruspoli. "We were both seeing people but were single. He seemed to really see me, see through the bulls--t. He said very few words and couldn't keep eye contact. He was so handsome, and he could dance."

Six months after their first encounter, the couple went on their first date. The actress admits the pair "closed down the restaurant at 2 a.m." and she was "madly in love" after that meeting.

And now that the lovebirds are engaged and happier than every before, Olivia admits she "can't wait" to have children with her man.

"We've discussed all our ideals and hopes. I can't wait for children," she gushes to the mag. "I'm open-minded about how many, but three, which I love, is like a little party. I am not trying to have kids now—there's no strict plan for anything in my life. What happens, happens. He's so good with kids…I've never before experienced looking at someone and thinking, That's who I want to raise a child with."
