Chelsea Handler's in love. But more on that in a sec.
Asked by Oprah Winfrey if she has a "thing for black men" in an interview airing Sunday on Oprah's Last Chapter, Handler replied, "Not a thing. I'm just open to it. I've dated black guys. I know I had a public relationship with one that obviously was very public."
Speaking of whom, 50 Cent's rapper persona is "completely antithetical to who he is in real life," the Chelsea Lately host said, musing, "He's a sweetheart and he's so cute, you just wanna, like, hang from his neck."
That was then, of course. Because now she's with hotelier André Balazs and, when asked if she's in love, she answered in the affirmative.
"Yes, I've met my match," Handler nodded. "I've met him, definitely." And that is why she's willing to put in the extra effort to make their oft-long-distance romance work.
"My boyfriend and I, we've broken up a couple of times, we've gotten back together and we're trying to figure out how to live a life together," she explained. "He's all over the world, I have to be in L.A. for my show for a certain amount of time and he's opening up hotels everywhere...But when you really want to be with someone, you can make that work."
"But you don't want it to be uneven, you know. If I'm going to London for you for a week for your business, going out and having to go out to dinner and drinks and be funny and engaging—you better hit me back!"
