Here's hoping the Force is strong with this bit of news.

While giving an interview with Palm Beach Illustrated, Carrie Fisher was asked point-blank if she could confirm that she would be reprising her role as Princess Leia in the seventh Star Wars film.

"Yes," the actress said matter-of-factly.

Sounds like a confirmation, right?

Of course, Fisher did joke (we assume) about what Leia would be like today, saying with a laugh, "Elderly. She's in an intergalactic old folks' home. I just think she would be just like she was before, only slower and less inclined to be up for the big battle."

What's more, she added that her character's fashion sense hasn't changed much, noting that Leia's still wearing "the bagel buns and the bikini, because probably she has sundowners syndrome. At sundown, she think that she's twentysomething. And she put it on and gets institutionalized."

As for whether Fisher will indeed be costarring in the next installment or was simply playing with the media, time will tell. Right now, her camp tells E! News they can't comment.

UPDATE 3/7/13: "She was joking," a rep for the actress told CNN about Fisher's comments. "Nothing has been announced."
