Lena Dunham is Team Anne Hathaway.

After Hathaway was apparently on the receiving end of criticism following her acceptance speech and wardrobe at the Oscars on Sunday, the Girls creator has jumped to the star's defense—and slammed a different Academy player: Host Seth MacFarlane

"Ladies: Anne Hathaway is a feminist and she has amazing teeth. Let's save our bad attitudes for the ones who aren't advancing the cause," she posted on her Twitter page.

That, predictably, started another social media uproar, so Dunham attempted to clarify things.

"Hey ragers. "The ones who aren't advancing the cause" I mentioned aren't always, or mostly, women. Case in point: I saw your boobs," she wrote

Dunham, who has bared skin on her own HBO show, is referring to MacFarlane's "We Saw Your Boobs" opening musical number, which poked fun at actresses who have gone topless onscreen. That number, as well as other bits from the show, earned MacFarlane his own share of Oscar backlash. He's since said there's "no way" he'll host the show again.

Although the HBO star surely received many responses from her hot-headed fans, Lena refused to engage any further in the Academy debate:

"Now I've said something murky about women's lib and will return to eating edamame/thinking about moving to Austin like I always do!"
