Getty, WireImage, SIPAPilot season is officially heating up!
2013's fall season could potentially be TV's most star-filled one yet, as actors such as Harry Potter's Rupert Grint are set to make their first trips to the small screen, while fan favorites such as Friday Night Lights' Kyle Chandler, Buffy the Vampire Slayer's Sarah Michelle Gellar, Lost's Josh Holloway and more are plotting their returns!
We've compiled a list of the ten pilot casting scoops that are already getting us excited for September!
Kyle Chandler: Coach Taylor is coming home, y'all! The Friday Night Lights fan favorite and Emmy winner is set to star in Showtime's genre thriller The Vatican as Cardinal Thomas Duffy, the charismatic yet enigmatic Archbishop of New York. Rupert Grint: Accio awesome casting news! Beloved Harry Potter star and ginger extraordinaire Grint is set to headline the CBS comedy Super Clyde from Raising Hope's Greg Garcia, which centers on a fast food employee who decides to become a superhero. Yes, Ron Weasley as a superhero. Super Clyde is already our favorite show. Ever.
Emma Roberts: The Scream 4 scene stealer will tackle the role of Lena Holoway in Fox's drama pilot Delirium, based on Lauren Oliver's best-selling trilogy about a world where love is illegal and one's ability to love can be eradicated with a procedure. Naturally, Lena falls in love with a mysterious guy just before she's set to have the procedure done. (#LoveHurts?) Billy Campbell and Gregg Sulkin will also star.
Andy Samberg and Andre Braugher: The Saturday Night Live vet and the Last Resort actor will team up for Parks and Recreation creator Mike Schur and Dan Goor's untitled Fox comedy about a diverse group of detectives in a New York City precinct. We're already picturing the amazing banter between the goofy Samberg and Braugher, who knows how to monologue it up with the best of 'em.
Josh Holloway: The fan-favorite Lost actor has found his way back to TV with CBS' Intelligence as a former Navy SEAL and intelligence officer in the drama that centers on a unit that has been created around one agent who has a microchip that allows him to access the entire electromagnetic spectrum implanted in his brain. So just as confusing as Lost; Holloway should feel right at home.
Ellie Kemper: The Office star will play the titular character in NBC's comedy project Brenda Forever, which tells stories from Brenda Miller's past and present. So yes, we will be meeting the chubby and incredibly confident 13-year-old version of Kemper. This show has "adorable" written all over it.
Sarah Michelle Gellar, Robin Williams aNd James Wolk: These three will be starring together in CBS' comedy Crazy Ones revolving around a father-daughter duo who run an advertising company together. This pleases us. (Also: Moment of silence for Ringer.)
Jason Ritter: The beloved actor (See: Parenthood) is set to star in Fox's sitcom Friends and Family, which is based on the BBC series Gavin & Stacey. The project centers on a couple trying to make their long-distance relationship work with, you guessed it, the help of friends and family, who sometimes can only make things harder. Raise your hand if you're excited to see Ritter flex his comedic muscle! (Still Team Mark Cyr! Sarah [Lauren Graham], you messed up real good.)
Will Arnett: The Arrested Development funnyman, who is currently still tied to the struggling NBC comedy Up All Night, is set to star as a recently divorced man in Greg Garcia's untitled CBS comedy. Read more about Arnett's casting and Up All Night's uncertain future here.
Mandy Moore: The singer-actress will star in CBS' Pulling, which is based on the British series of the same name and tells the story of three women in their 30s who live their lives the way they want, even if society tells them they're doing it wrong. Her character Louise is eager to get married.
