Eve has a message for Britney Spears: Oh no you didn't!

On Thursday night's edition of Watch What Happens Live on Bravo, Andy Cohen asked the rapper and The Taste's U.K. star Nigella Lawson what they thought of the popster's British accent on "Scream & Shout," the hit track Spears collaborated on with Black Eyed Peas mastermind will.i.am.

That's when Eve suggested things aren't always as they seem and that it might not have been Spears' voice people were actually hearing.

"I heard that might not be Britney," answered Eve, drawing catcalls from the studio audience.

"Really? Why? Is it someone else in the studio?" pondered the late-night host.

"That's what I heard," insisted the hip-hopster before quickly qualifying her statement. "That's what I heard, but you know, I don't know. It could be Britney. But I heard it wasn't. I don't know."

The tune, which hit airwaves in November, appears on will.i.am's upcoming album #willpower.

But a rep for Spears tells OMG! Eve's assertion is just plain wrong.

"Completely not true," said her spokesman. "Britney absolutely sings on "Scream & Shout."

Since then, Eve has clarified that it wasn't the singing she was questioning:

"Come on ya'll My comment was not about Britney Spears NOT singing the song- clearly it's her," she tweeted. "It was about the British accent-pay attention."

Listen and judge for yourself if it's Britney or not. A remix video of "Scream & Shout" featuring Diddy, Lil Wayne and Waka Flocka Flame also leaked online yesterday, a day before its official premiere.
