Mindy McCready's rep is speaking out on behalf of the singer

As E! News exclusively reported, McCready has entered a treatment center in the wake of boyfriend David Wilson's passing and her two children have been placed in foster care. And now, the singer's rep has provided E! News with a statement about McCready's current status.

"As you can imagine, the tragedy of David Wilson's death has been devastating and crippling to Mindy and her entire family," the rep said. "We can confirm Mindy was admitted to an in-patient facility yesterday evening."

Additionally, the rep confirmed that the Department of Human Services had removed sons Zander, 6, and Zayne, 9 months, from McCready's Arkansas home on Wednesday.

"While taking appropriate, much-needed and deserved time to grieve, her sons have been placed in foster homes where they are comfortable and cared for," the rep told us. "We have no further statement at this time."

Meanwhile, the investigation into Wilson's death remains open while authorities await autopsy results.
