Justin Bieber's mom just wants the best for her son—whatever that may be!
Pattie Mallette stopped by the Today show Thursday and weighed in on Justin and Selena Gomez's on-and-off romance.
"You know, I just try and support whatever he's wanting," she said. "I think [Selena is] a sweetheart, and whatever they decide is great."
Pattie admitted it's "tough letting go and letting our kids make the mistakes they need to make" as they get it older. But she said she hopes Justin, 18, will "learn from my mistakes" as he continues to make his way into adulthood.
In the meantime, she's looking forward to seeing her son show off his comic chops hosting Saturday Night Live this weekend. "I think we're both nervous!" she said. "He's been rehearsing all week and practicing and helping write skits. He's excited."
