Nicki Minaj may be missing out on a Grammy nomination this year, but in her view, it's only a matter of time before she's up at the podium giving her acceptance speech.

"I've gotten tons of awards, and I believe when it's my time to get a Grammy, I'll get a Grammy," the Trinidadian-born rapper said in a published interview.

While she garnered three nods last year including Best New Artist and Best Rap Album for her debut, Pink Friday, Minaj was shut out of nominations this year for her second album, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded.

In the interview, the "Starships" singer speculated that the Recording Academy's decision not to recognize her might have been politically motivated, though she declined to go into details.

"I think that the Grammys had a different reason that I do not want to discuss…and that's just between me and them," she added. "But I respect their organization and I'll get a Grammy eventually. I'm not worried about it."

We wonder if the snub had anything to do with her infamous Grammys "exorcism" performance from last year?

In any case, a rep for the Recording Academy was unavailable for comment.

Of course, the 30-year-old Minaj has been making headlines lately because of her so-called feud with fellow judge Mariah Carey on American Idol. At one point last summer, Carey claimed to Barbara Walters that MInaj threatened she would "shoot that bitch"—aka Carey—if she had a gun.

However, the two rival divas have since made up, and as Minaj told Ellen DeGeneres a couple of weeks ago, they're "friends."

The Grammy Awards will be broadcast live from Los Angeles' Staples Center on Feb. 10 on CBS.
