Clearly taking after her stylish mom, Michelle Obama, Malia stepped out in Washington D.C. looking prim, proper and well, purple in a lovely ladylike coat for this morning's inauguration ceremony.

The eldest Obama daughter donned J.Crew's double-cloth lady day coat in plum, a charming selection that showed her evolving sophistication and penchant for pretty things.

We especially love the feminine, fresh shade in the middle of winter and timeless, classic tailoring; a tasteful choice that perfectly coordinated with little sister Sasha's Kate Spade design.

One thing's for sure, the Obama ladies will be as stylish as ever during the second term!
