If you haven't been watching this season of The Office but still want to give the series a proper goodbye, showrunner Greg Daniels urges viewers to come back with next week's episode, which is, in his words, "the beginning of the end."

"If you look at how many characters there are here, and you think that it'll be our 200th half hour when we do the finale, I don't think we're planning on packing everything into the last episode," he told reporters during a TCA visit to the set of the NBC series. "I would encourage people, if you are waiting for the end of The Office to re-tune in, I would start doing it right away."

You heard the man! Basically, there are a lot of Dunder Mifflin-ites to say farewell to, and they each will get their time to shine. Including former castmembers Mindy Kaling, B.J. Novak and Zach Woods, who Daniels confirmed would be back before the fade to black.

And of course, the Steve Carell question came up again. NBC boss Bob Greenblatt told reporters at TCA last week that it was "unlikely" that Michael Scott would show up before the end because Carell liked how his storyline ended. And now? Same situation.

"Steve is very much of the opinion that the "Goodbye Michael' episode and the story arc that we did leading up to it was his goodbye to the fans and to the show, and that the stuff we're doing this season is the goodbye that the rest of the show gets to have," Daniels said. "So at the moment we don't have any plans for him to come back."

But the finale script is still being written, so those plans may change. We now have a theory that Michael Scott is somehow behind the reason why the documentary crew started filming at Dunder Mifflin in the first place. Thoughts?

Bonus scoop: Daniels revealed that in episode 15, someone is getting fired. Give us your guess in the comments below!
