Is Busy Philipps keeping, well, busy playing matchmaker?
While there's been much speculation the Cougar Town star served as Cupid for pals Jason Segel and Michelle Williams, the actress insists that's just not the case.
"People just made that up. I don't know how that happened," she told Anderson Cooper on his show Wednesday. "The truth is, Jason Segel and I have been friends since we were on Freaks and Geeks together, and Michelle and I have been BFFs for 12 years or something like that. But it wasn't my doing. I guess I wish I could say it was."
Then how did the cute couple's love connection occur in the first place?
"We were just all at the same party and my husband was talking to Segel, and Michelle and I were hanging out and then he kind of asked her out on a date," Philipps recalled. "But I really didn't have anything to do with it other than I'm supportive."
Of course, Philipps herself made a love connection of sorts with her hubby, Marc Silverstein, recently. They announced last month that baby No. 2 is on the way!
