How's this for a star sighting?

As a murder trial got underway on Wednesday in New York City, none other than Katie Holmes was spotted sitting in the courtroom.

According to The New York Times, Suri's mom was there to support her friend, prosecutor Leigh Bishop, who was making her argument against a man accused of violently shaking his 2-month-old daughter to death in 2007.

Holmes reportedly left shortly after opening arguments.

Meanwhile, the actress gave her final performance in the Broadway play, Dead Accounts, on Sunday. The show, which had received mixed reviews, closed seven weeks ahead of schedule.
