Naomi Campbell is used to mugging for the camera—not being mugged!

Reports have surfaced that the British supermodel was accosted and injured by a group of men while trying to hail a cab in Paris last month just before Christmas.

Per the New York Post, the 42-year-old Campbell tore a ligament in her leg after she was "knocked over and robbed" by the thugs, a fact apparently borne out by photos that have popped up showing her in crutches and a wheelchair over the last couple of weeks.

No word exactly what the muggers made off with. In the wake of her alleged run-in with the gang, the catwalker's billionaire boyfriend, Vladimir Doronin, reportedly flew her to Vail, Colo., to be treated by an orthopedic surgeon there and has increased the security around her.

However, oddly enough, while the Post reported that French police were investigating the matter, a source with authorities in Paris tells the U.K.'s Daily Mail that law enforcement has no record of an official report of the crime for that month, either with its criminal brigade or with city hospitals.

"If such a serious crime had taken place then a criminal inquiry would have started by now, especially if the victim ended up in a wheelchair," a police source told the paper.

A rep for Campbell was unavailable for comment, though Naomi herself told the Post when reached by phone that she's "fine."

This isn't the first time Campbell's been involved in an incident of violence, though in the past she hasn't exactly been the victim, such as the time in 2007 when she pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault for hurling a cell phone at her maid's head.

Campbell is now said to be vacationing in Miami, where she's preparing for the premiere of her new Oxygen design competition show, The Face.
