To say Taylor Swift was excited about performing in Times Square for 2013's New Year's Rockin' Eve is a bit of an understatement. The 23-year old superstar took to her Twitter before the show to share her elation with fans and get them pumped for her performance.

Swift was the last in a star-studded lineup of performers that included Justin Bieber, PSY, Carly Rae Jepsen and Neon Trees.

And when the singer took the stage, she certainly proved to be a suitable showcap.

Dressed in tight black leather pants and a sparkly red jacket, which she accessorized with a red microphone (in completely unrelated news, her new album Red was released last month), Swift performed "I Knew You Were Trouble" and "We Are Never Getting Back Together."

The upbeat performance was just what the crowd of an estimated million party-goers in NYC needed as their final push before the ball dropped.

Mere minutes after she exited the stage, the countdown began and it was officially 2013, which just so happens to be good news for Swift!

Thirteen is the singer's lucky number, so maybe this year she'll win a Grammy, a CMA, an AMA, a Billboard Music Award, a BMI Award, a CMT Award, an MTV Award, a People's Choice Award, a Teen Choice Award….we hope this year brings you anything (else) you could ever hope for, Taylor!
