The beloved royal made history this holiday season by broadcasting her Christmas message in 3-D, and she even had the snazzy glasses for it.
The queen was snapped donning the specialty eyewear at Buckingham Palace to view the message, and in true royal fashion, Prince William's grandma knew how to get all bling'd out: The glasses featured Swarovski crystals on either side that spelled the letter "Q."
Per the Daily Mail, a spokesman said that the Palace "wanted to do something a bit different and special in this jubilee year, so doing it for the first time in 3-D seemed a good thing, technology-wise, to do." He also noted that the queen thought the broadcast was "absolutely lovely."
The queen's message aired on Christmas Day shortly after she attended church service at Sandringham in Norfolk. In the broadcast, the 86-year-old reflected on everything from the London Olympics and Paralympics to her festive Diamond Jubilee celebrations, saying, "It was humbling that so many chose to mark the anniversary of a duty which passed to me 60 years ago."
Meanwhile, expectant parents Prince William and Kate Middleton spent the holiday away from the queen, as they celebrated it with the Duchess of Cambridge's family in Bucklebury, England.
Hopefully for the royal couple, the queen's groovy 3-D message didn't make her seem too far away.
