We guess Jimmy Kimmel and Jay Leno won't be exchanging gifts this year!

The two late-night hosts are set to go head-to-head starting Jan. 8 when ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live moves to its new time slot, but Kimmel has decided to start the competition early.

While on a conference call with reporters, Kimmel compared Leno to the Friday the 13th film franchise's villain Jason, saying, "Just when you think he's dead, he comes back." And that's not all Kimmel had to say about his competitor!

Kimmel hinted that Leno's days of sitting at The Tonight Show desk could be numbered, saying, "The fact is that NBC is going to make a decision someday. As much as he would like it, Jay Leno can't stay on television forever and Jimmy Fallon is the heir apparent."

After ABC announced Jimmy Kimmel Live's move, NBC decided to move The Tonight's Show to a minute earlier at 11:34 p.m., but Kimmel isn't worried. "It tells me that they are a bit concerned," Kimmel said. "I'll be curious to see how long that goes on. That's a trick designed to bring up their ratings in the first month. What really matters is how you do in May and that's when we'll know where we stand."

In the end, Kimmel said, "Jay's just another guy doing a TV show."
