Tom Cruise's new flick Jack Reacher is getting yet another big postponement.

Tonight's NYC preview screening of the action film has been pushed back following last Friday's horrific Newtown, Conn., Sandy Hook elementary school shooting.

"The Film Society of Lincoln Center has postponed tonight's screening and conversation with Tom Cruise to benefit the 50th anniversary fund," the organization said today in a statement. "Out of respect for the families who lost loved ones in Newtown, Connecticut, we are postponing tonight's event. We extend our love and condolences to you. Our community grieves with yours."

"We support Lincoln Center and their decision to postpone their fundraiser this evening," Paramount Studios said of the setback. "On Wednesday, Tom cruise will be traveling to Pittsburgh to screen the film for fans in the city that so graciously hosted the production of the film. There will be no red carpet during this time of mourning.

"The filmmakers and Tom Cruise convey their heartfelt sadness and their deep condolences to the families during this time."

News of the postponed screening comes just days after Jack Reacher's Pittsburgh premiere was also rescheduled out of respect for the victims of last week's massacre, which left almost 30 people dead.

Tonight's sneak preview screening of the movie was set to be a part of An Evening With Tom Cruise, a career retrospective with the 50-year-old actor.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Paramount is also scratching a scene featuring Cruise firing a semi-automatic weapon from its current lineup of TV promos.

Jack Reacher, which also stars Rosamund Pike and Richard Jenkins, hits theaters Dec. 21.
