On the road to doing press for her latest film, Kristen Stewart made a very important stop.

The Twilight star made a surprise appearance at the 12-12-12 Concert for Sandy Relief tonight at Madison Square Garden, showing up between Adam Sandler's humorous, suck-it-Sandy rendition of "Hallelujah" and Jon Bon Jovi's emotional set.

And what a warm welcome she got, never mind the handful of geniuses encouraging her to declare her love for Robert Pattinson while she was busy talking about rebuilding efforts in storm-ravaged areas.

"If you're a young person and you were born after Ronald Reagan was president and your parents have just finished describing who I am, then we have a special treat for you," Billy Crystal said by way of introducing Stewart, who's an L.A. native.

"She flew in from California just to be here tonight because she wanted to help out. She got here in three seconds because that's what vampires do when they fly at night, they go very fast...Please welcome, a fantastic young actress, please welcome Kristen Stewart!"

"I am here to talk to you about New Jersey tonight," Stewart began, tucking her hair behind her ear and launching into some rather devastating statistics—not least of which was the fact that Sandy cause $37 billion in damages to New Jersey.

But, as Crystal suggested, perhaps Bella Swan's appearance will get an even bigger age demographic to pick up the phone and part with some pocket money.
