Holiday cards are never easy and always awkward. But some of them are also trying just a little too hard to be quirky, here are the signs to look out for.

As a holiday gift to you, here are some signs that you may be overdoing it this Christmas card season.

1. You made your cat a tie, and that tie happens to match the one you're wearing.

2. If there are any of the following items in the photo: a vintage typewriter, adult pajamas, towels used as hats, fake hipster glasses or a cat in swaddling clothes.

3. You look at what you've created and notice that your friend is naked between your legs. Also, you're pretending to give birth to him.

4. If your Cabbage Patch doll's teased hair looks better than yours.
