It doesn't take much to land a tabloid headline these days—heck, all you have to do is leave the house without undies and you're sure to get your naughty bits plastered all over magazines. But it takes something special to keep generating news. And to be crowned E! Celeb of the Year.
We pitted 16 of the most newsworthy stars of 2012 against each other in an NCAA-style bracket and you eliminated eight of the contenders that you deemed unworthy of their buzz. We started with presidents and pageant queens, royals and reality stars. So is your fave still relevant to this competition?
Round 1 of Newsmakers was a complete bloodbath. And a landslide victory for most of the contenders: Honey Boo Boo rocked Hulk Hogan (which, FYI, is a WWE match we'd like to see in real life too). Kim Kardashian and President Barack Obama similarly wiped the floor with their competition.
Both royal (the now-pregnant Kate Middleton and brother-in-law Prince Harry) made the cut, as did Demi Lovato, Miley Cyrus and Katie Holmes.
