Reese Witherspoon may be a proper Southern lady, but Mindy Kaling would love to see her get her crazy on.

While Kaling won't say if her lunch date with Witherspoon the other day was a business meeting, she does tell me that the Oscar winner is her dream guest for her new Fox comedy, The Mindy Project.

"Because she's so sweet and so articulate and well raised, to me it would be really fun to have her play somebody out of control," Kaling said at The Hollywood Reporter's Women in Entertainment Power 100 breakfast. "That would be really fun for me."

Like Claire Danes' Carrie on Homeland out of control?

"Listen, if she can cry as well as Claire Danes can on command like that, I would love to see her do that," Kaling said. "Reese Witherspoon bawling out of control on my show would be great."

Sounds like a lot of fun to us.

Also at the Reporter event were Sarah Paulson, Kerry Washington, Elizabeth Banks, Kathy Griffin, Molly Sims, Jenna Dewan and Ellie Kemper as well as every top-level female executive in Hollywood.

Sandra Fluke (yes, the women's right activist lawyer who stood up to Rush Limbaugh) gave a passionate speech about the role of media in shaping people's attitudes toward women. She also revealed that the Reporter flew her from Nebraska to L.A. by private plane so she could get appear at the breakfast.

Diane Keaton was honored with the Sherry Lansing Leadership Award.
