Could Obi-Wan Kenobi be making a comeback in Star Wars: Episode VII?

Ewan McGregor says he's more than ready to reprise his role of Anakin Skywalker's Jedi mentor from the prequels in any future installments Disney and Lucasfilm are planning since news broke last month that George Lucas sold his empire to the Mouse House.

"Yeah of course. If they need me, yeah, I'd be happy," the 41-year-old Scottish thesp told Digital Spy while making the publicity rounds with Naomi Watts for their new drama, The Impossible.

When the reporter suggested Kenobi might come back as a ghost, McGregor suggested, "Or maybe he comes back."

But then he was quick to note he's the last person to know these days.

"I know nothing about it other than what I've read on the Internet," the actor added.

McGregor, of course, played the younger Obi-Wan in the prequel trilogy, which saw him instruct Anakin in the ways of the Force before the latter turned evil and became Darth Vader. Alec Guinness originated the part in Star Wars: Episode IV—A New Hope and its two sequels, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.

Since purchasing Lucasfilm, Disney is ramping up new entries in the franchise with Star Wars: Episode VII targeted for release in 2015.
