The talented X Factor judge turns 31 today and, after a lifetime of highs and lows in the biz, the "Toxic" singer certainly has a lot to celebrate.
From her time on the reality competition show to her No.1 hit with will.i.am to the end of her court case drama, we think 2012 is rounding out to be Brit-Brit's best year yet (even though she's been Miss American Dream since she was 17).
Believe it—Britney's back and better than ever, bitches! So let's scream and shout in celebration as we take a look back at her biggest moments of the year:
Queen Brit steals the X Factor spotlight: Just watch one episode of the hit competition show and it's clear that Brit-Brit gets the royal reality treatment. Her legendary career, sometimes erratic behavior (how about that head turn!) and her tumultuous past have made the singer one of the most (if not the most) popular star to ever grace the judge's table. We can't get enough of Brit's epic faces or her thoughtful advice for the hopeful contestants. Oh, and did we mention Spears is cashing in a cool $17 million for the gig? Winning, indeed.
Her legal woes are finally behind her: It wasn't easy for fans to learn that Britney's breakup with Justin "changed her" or to hear allegations that the star shaved her head to hide her drug use. But, if there's anything we've learned from the pop star's life in the tabloids, it's that America loves a comeback. And comeback is exactly what Britney Spears did. We couldn't have been happier for Brit and her fam when the judge dismissed Sam Lutfi's defamation case, and we were thrilled to find out her parents Jamie and Lynne are happily back together. Those troubles from 2007 just seem so far away, and we relish the thought of Spears being in the biz for many years to come.
She's still a top hitmaker: We die for Britney and will.i.am's futuristic music video for their catchy single "Scream and Shout" and we're anything but surprised the song instantly shot to No. 1. It's pop-y, it's fun and it's fabulous for a party (heck, we might even take a birthday shot in honor of our gal!). Not to mention Britney looks absolutely amazing in the high-energy vid. And let's be real, it's always fun to sing "It's Britney, bitch."
She smells good, too: Not only is Britney a phenomenal performer, but she's also an entrepreneur who has made a fortune since she entered the fragrance world. Her first perfume, Curious, was launched in 2004, and since then, she's endorsed 10 other scents. This year, she debuted Fantasy Twist and transformed into a sexy Cleopatra for the wickedly cool commercial. And although each Fantasy look is equally fab, we think this might be her best yet. Agreed?
She finally found love...again!: OK, so technically Jason Trawick proposed in mid Dec. 2011, but that's almost 2012, and it's just too awesome of a moment not to note. It's so sweet how much Brit's beau adores the singer and her little boys, and we'll admit we jumped for joy when Spears found love again. Can't wait for that celebrity wedding! Brit-Brit will undoubtedly make one beautiful bride.
So with that, we say happy birthday, Britney! We hope it's the best.
