Pacific Rim Viral Teaser Gives First Glimpse of Guillermo del Toro's Monster Epic

Talk about a monster of a tease!

A new viral clip for Guillermo del Toro's upcoming epic flick, Pacific Rim, has been released.

Presented as a breaking news report, the video reveals that a "giant creature" has attacked San Francisco and proceeds to show rapid-fire shots of carnage and chaos throughout the city, including an oh-so-brief glimpse of said creature destroying the Golden Gate Bridge.

The film, which stars Charlie Hunnam, Rinko Kikuchi, Idris Elba, Charlie Day and Ron Perlman, revolves around monstrous creatures known as Kaiju who rise from the sea intent on wiping out mankind. Robots called Jaegers are subsequently developed and used by humans in hopes of saving the world.

Pacific Rim hits theaters on July 12, 2013.
