Gregg DeGuire/WireImage Mayim Bialik has officially called it quits on her nine-year marriage to Michael Stone.
After the 36-year-old Big Bang Theory actress announced last week she and Stone had decided to part ways, court documents surfaced revealing Bialik filed court documents for the divorce that same day.
In the papers filed last Wednesday, Bialik cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for their split.
"Divorce is terribly sad, painful and incomprehensible for children. It is not something we have decided lightly," Bialik wrote on her blog at the time. "The main priority for us now is to make the transition to two loving homes as smooth and painless as possible. Our sons deserve parents committed to their growth and health and that's what we are focusing on. Our privacy has always been important and is even more so now, and we thank you in advance for respecting it as we negotiate this new terrain. We will be ok."
The couple tied the knot Aug. 31, 2003 and has two sons together, Miles, 7, and Fredrick, 4.
Bialik is requesting joint legal and physical custody of their children. The actress is also known for her book, Beyond the Sling, in which she discusses her attachment parenting style.
