After receiving a series of harsh reviews for her performance as Elizabeth Taylor in the Lifetime biopic (The Hollywood Reporter called it "half train wreck, half SNL skit), the 26-year-old starlet's Chateau Marmont pal is sticking up for her famous friend.
"@lindsaylohan you did a beautiful job on Liz & Dick, Let no one bring u down, Liz didnt, they always try to knock the greats down a few pegs," the "Born This Way" singer tweeted Monday.
"@ladygaga thank you so much!," the comebacking actress posted in response. "You are such an incredible force and that means the world to me :) love & hugs xo hope to see you soon bella."
The seemingly odd pair developed a friendship when they both spent time together at the famed Hollywood hotel, often sharing their love for each other on Twitter and even engaging in a late night photo shoot and slumber party with photographer Ellen von Unwerth.
The Mother Monster and The Canyons star are also teaming up for a new music, and a source told E! News that the girls "have become good friends. They talk and text all the time."
