One week after being orphaned, Phil Hartman's kids have said goodbye.

The two children--Sean, 9, and Birgen, 6--were among the family members gathered at Thursday's memorial service for the entertainer and his wife, Brynn.

Although family spokesman Stan Rosenfield was mum about the details of the private ceremony, he confirmed it took place this morning at the Church of the Recessional at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California.

The bodies of Phil and Brynn Hartman have already been cremated, as stipulated in their wills, and will be scattered over Santa Catalina Island, just off the Southern California coast.

It was last Thursday that Brynn Hartman shot her husband multiple times in the head as he slept. Several hours after killing her husband, she returned to the bedroom and shot herself in the head.

The children were asleep in the house at the time of their dad's murder, and were being escorted out by police when their mom committed suicide.

Although many theories have been floated to explain the murder-suicide, investigators say they do not have a motive.

The children will now move to Wisconsin, to live with Brynn Hartman's sister and her husband.
