One Direction are worshipped by millions of adoring fans, but last night the dreamy boy band took time to honor Queen Elizabeth II.

The handsome group—that is, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson—took the stage in honor of Her Majesty Monday evening at the Royal Albert Hall for the 2012 Royal Variety Performance in London, England.

Prince Phillip was also in attendance as the fine-looking fivesome sang "Little Things," the new single off of their just-dropped album Take Me Home. It's currently at the top of the U.K. Billboard charts.

Looking strapping in their suits, the lads greeted the queen, putting on their best behavior (and sweetest smiles!) as they shook her hand.

1D member Harry Styles later took to Twitter to share his excitement after meeting a member of the royal family.

"Today, I met The Queen," the 18-year-old heartthrob wrote. "Amazing night.. Can't believe it. Night!! .xx"

We sure would have loved to be a fly on the wall during that epic meet and greet!
