Mr Photoman / Splash NewsThe drama surrounding Ariel Winter's family now includes a police report filed by the Modern Family star's mother that alleges she caught her 14-year-old daughter in bed with 18-year-old boyfriend, actor Cameron Palatas.
According to the filing dated Oct. 6 that was obtained by E! News, Winter's mom, Chrisoula Workman, told authorities that on Sept. 24, "she walked in the guest bedroom of her home and found her daughter, Ariel Winter Workman, in bed with boyfriend, Cameron Lewis Palatas."
The report also states that, according to the informant (Workman), "Ariel and Cameron have been boyfriend/girlfriend for approximately 5 months. She has attempted to break them up because of their age difference."
In the report, it is also noted that Workman "mentioned that on 10-03-12, Ariel contacted The Department of Child and Family Services (DCFS). Ariel allege that her mother (Informant) abused her. The informant has not yet been contacted by DCFS."
As for why Workman did not file the police report when the alleged incident occurred, a source close to Workman tells E! News: "She didn't want her daughter to be embarrassed or for her filing to affect her daughter's career in any way. She needed to seek advice first. But ultimately she told Ariel she was going to file because she didn't want her daughter to ruin her life by making bad choices."
E! News, meanwhile, has obtained a declaration from a physician who treated Winter refuting allegations that Winter's mother physically abused her.
Those allegations are now at the center of an ongoing legal battle between Winter's mother and sister Shanelle Gray over guardianship of the 14-year-old after Winter was removed from her mother's care.
Workman herself told E! News in a statement on Thursday, "I love my daughter very much. I would never abuse her in any way and I have always tried my best to always protect her and do what is right for her."
Winter's sister is seeking permanent guardianship over the actress. A hearing is scheduled for Nov. 20.
