Robert Pattinson knows all too well that fame comes at a price.

The obvious example, of course, is the seemingly endless media attention over his relationship with Kristen Stewart.

Sure enough, the subject came up once again when Pattinson appeared on Thursday's Today show to promote Breaking Dawn Part 2.

"Yesterday, I had asked Kristen if you and she had gotten back together," Today cohost Savannah Guthrie informed Pattinson. "She said, 'Keep them guessing.' So I'm going to ask you."

Pattinson playfully replied, "I want to ask, because we get asked it all the time. Who is actually asking? Is it in your contract?"

Guthrie joked that it is before bringing up one of the other downsides to fame—the ever-popular nickname.

"I don't understand what the nickname culture is," said Pattinson referring to the media calling him R.Pattz. "If I could figure out a way to get rid of that, it would be amazing because it does sound like an antacid tablet."

Duly noted R.Pa—, er, Robert Pattinson.
