Country Singer Sammy Kershaw: "We're All Very Lucky" After Scary Bus Crash

Country star and his bandmates escape without injury after his tour bus is involved in a smashup with another car

Next time maybe Sammy Kershaw oughta take the Feelin' Good Train.

The country crooner walked away from a serious accident unscathed after his tour bus was hit by another car in Nocona, Texas Friday night.

The 54-year-old Kershaw tells E! News he was uninjured, though he admitted he and nine members of his band were traumatized by the incident, which occurred at 11:30 p.m. and caused a lot of damage to their bus.

"We got hit on the side of the tour bus mainly towards the front end...I mean it could have turned out really bad," Sammy says. "We were all very lucky including the lady that hit us. All the bags deployed. She had to go to the hospital, but none of my guys did. We were all pretty sore but OK."

The unidentified woman driving the other vehicle, which ended up being totaled, was taken to a nearby hospital with injuries but is expected to recover.

"I understand she just had a broken ankle in a couple of places and her face bruised up from the air bag and it really could have been a bad situation," Kershaw adds. "I travel with a lot of guardian angels all my life…but cars and buses and all that other stuff is just things and things can be replaced."

The good news is the show will go on for the Louisiana musician as the mishap did not force him to scrap any dates on his current trek. Kershaw's next gig is set for Cambridge, Md., this Friday. 

The multiplatinum-selling singer—who on this election day also said he voted early but wouldn't specifiy which candidate and urged fans to get out and vote—shot to fame in the early '90s thanks to a slew of country hits including "Cadillac Style," "She Don't Know She's Beautiful" and "Third Rate Romance."
