What a Tripp: Bristol Palin Heckler Lawsuit Dismissed

Reality star was sued in June by a man who claimed she defamed him in interviews and on camera while shooting her now-canceled show, Life's a Tripp

In the end, it was a whole lotta legal heckling over nothing.

A federal judge has tossed out a defamation lawsuit against Bristol Palin brought by a man caught heckling her on camera on her reality show, Life's a Tripp.

Per ABC News, Palin's lawyer, John Tiemessen, confirmed over the weekend that the suit had been dismissed.

Stephen Hanks sued the 21-year-old reality star in June for defamation, invasion of right to privacy, intentional infliction of emotional distress and misappropriation of right of publicity after she hinted in an interview that he was the reason she moved back to Alaska.

The kerfuffle stemmed from a heated confrontation the two had at a West Hollywood bar, in which Palin reportedly suggested Hanks was gay after he ripped her mother, Sarah Palin, and baby daddy, Levi Johnston.

Parts of the exchange were caught on camera, and Hanks objected to clips of it that were used in promos for Life's a Tripp, which aired on Lifetime.

A judge has ordered Hanks to cover Palin's attorney fees.

The court victory is welcome news for the single mom, who is still smarting after getting booted off Dancing With the Stars last month.
