Kellie Pickler Shows Off Shaved Head at CMA Awards

Country star says a bonus of her short 'do is she gets to sleep in longer in the mornings

Kellie Pickler—and her awesomely shaved head—looked fabulous Thursday night at the CMA Awards in Nashville, Tenn.

The 26-year-old country star, who buzzed off her hair in September to show solidarity for a lifelong pal diagnosed with breast cancer, has no regrets about shearing off her platinum blond locks.

"It's growing back!" she told E! News of her hair. And on the plus side, Kellie "[gets] to sleep in a little longer" now that she doesn't have to fuss over her tresses.

The former American Idol contestant, who shaved her head the day Summer Holt Miller started chemo, had a pact with her friend to get buzzed together. Besides just being there for her BFF, Kellie and Summer "wanted to encourage early detection, [and women to] go to your checkups!"

A haircut that helps save lives? We need to call that stylist.
