On Monday, the HMS Bounty, a ship that was featured in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, sank off the coast of North Carolina, claiming the life of one of crew member, NBC News reports.
The ship's captain, meanwhile, remains missing.

Crew member Claudene Christian, 42, was found unresponsive at sea and was later pronounced dead at a hospital.
The captain, who's been identified as Robin Walbridge, 63, has reportedly been missing for 24 hours. According to crew members, he was wearing the right safety gear at the time the ship sank.
Fourteen other crew members survived after being pulled out of the water in a dramatic helicopter rescue operation.
The 16-crew ship, a historic maritime vessel that was also featured in the 1962 Marlon Brando film Mutiny on the Bounty, sailed from Connecticut last week en route to Florida but changed course in an attempt to evade the storm.
The ship's crew were reportedly able to escape aboard two lifeboats before being rescued via helicopter.
Meanwhile, in New York City, a man reportedly drowned at a downtown apartment complex where Gwyneth Paltrow and Meryl Streep have homes.
A parking attendant at 92 Laight St. had supposedly become trapped in the basement when water started flooding in. Police say that the victim, whose name hasn't yet been released, was later found inside a vehicle after the water subsided.
Per the Huffington Post, the building is part of a larger luxury apartment complex called River Lofts, whose celebrity homeowners include Paltrow and Streep, among others.
Hurricane Sandy has so far claimed the lives of at least 39 people.
