Make no mistake; Kate Upton is one model on a mission. Sure, she's perfectly appropriate on a Sports Illustrated swimsuit cover, but it's often been speculated if she can actually hold her own as a high-fashion model.

And while Carine Roitfeld recently embraced her look, shooting her as the cover girl for the inaugural issue of her new magazine, CR Fashion Book, the curvy blonde hasn't exactly hit it off with everyone in the industry. Snubbed by several brands, Upton continues to forge ahead, waiting for her time to truly make her mark and rise above the ranks of an ordinary bikini model.

And that time has finally come.

As the November cover girl of Vogue Italia, Upton proves her star power is undeniable even to one of the most elite publications in the biz. No doubt a major milestone for her modeling career, this high-profile gig is bound to garner some major attention from all the right people.

Shot by Steven Meisel, the photographs exude uninhibited glamour and bombshell sensuality—two qualities Upton inherently has whether she's walking into a grocery store or gracing the cover of a major magazine. The cover photo features Upton smoldering for the camera in Fendi fur and a patent leather bustier by Patricia Field with the word "SEDUCTIVE" in all caps emblazoned across her voluptuous bosom.

Those Italians, always so subtle.

Tell us what you think! Does Kate have what it takes to be a top model?
