Kim Kardashian's sexy mermaid costume isn't the only thing making a big splash these days.

The E! star raised lots of eyebrows last week after she was spotted sporting quite the ginormous sparkler on her right pinky finger shortly after her birthday, which promptly sparked talk that she and beau Kanye West might be taking their relationship to a whole new level.

We caught up with Kim on Saturday night at Midori Green's Halloween Party in New York City, where the swimmingly stylish star—complete with blond wig, seashell bustier and sparkly fishtail frock—came clean about her gorgeous ring and all the reports about possible wedding bells with Yeezy.

First off, Kim shared that she doesn't comment on personal gifts, but she did playfully peg some blame for the engagement talk on one culprit: Ryan Seacrest! After all, the American Idol host did hint on his radio show two weeks ago that Kanye could be popping the question soon.

"I don't know where Ryan came up with that," she told us, before cracking, "Ryan, I'm so mad at you, where did you come up with that? You're starting rumors."

Now that we've got that out of the way, Kim went on to confirm that all the speculation about an engagement remains just that: speculation.

"It's just a rumor," she said. "But I had an amazing birthday, very intimate and very special."

Kris Jenner certainly backs that up: Last week, Kim's mom pooh-poohed the notion that Kimye were heading down the aisle, and that her daughter was wearing an engagement ring.

"If it was, I would know about it," Kris told E! News exclusively.

That doesn't mean, though, that Mama Jenner isn't holding out hope for something.

"Kanye's such a great guy," she gushed, "that if anything along those lines would happen, he's already a part of our family."

The new season of Kourtney and Kim Takes Miami premieres in January on E!
