Maybe this will inspire a week of patriotic songs for the New Directions.

Glee's Matthew Morrison was the chosen one when it came to singing the National Anthem during game 2 of the World Series tonight, and its safe to say, his TV students would be very proud.

"Excited to be singing the National Anthem at game 2 of the World Series tomorrow in San Francisco," he tweeted yesterday.

Being a professional performer, Morrison knew that less is more when it came to serenading San Francisco Giants and Detroit Tigers' fans, and kept it simple by offering a simple yet still entertaining rendition of "The Star-Spangled Banner."

"Ready for today's big game on @MLBonFOX #WorldSeries," the TV star tweeted, along with a photo of himself on the field.

The New Girl's Zooey Deschanel will be singing the National Anthem during game 3 in Detroit on Saturday while X Factor's Demi Lovato will sing the following night.
