The X Factor is making dreams come true in more ways than one.

One of this year's finalists, David Correy, appeared on Fox's hit talent competition earlier in the season and told Simon Cowell and the rest of the judges how much he hoped to reconnect with his birth mother in his native country of Brazil.

Well, thanks to his tube appearance, it looks like he's getting his wish.

The 26-year-old musician not only let the world hear his voice, but the woman who bore him in the Brazilian city of Recife before giving him up for adoption happened to catch the episode and got in touch with him.

"She was only 14 when she had me. If I win The X Factor, I pray it reconnects me with my birth mother," Correy said on the segment that aired four weeks ago before he performed a powerful rendition of Bruno Mars' hit "Just the Way You Are."

Now, as TMZ reports, after recognizing the baby pictures of him that were shown during his audition, Correy's biological mother, Luciene Lima, contacted authorities with her son's birth certificate, the orphanage he lived in and other pertinent info. She then reached out to a local Brazilian newspaper, which contacted Correy on her behalf.

While a DNA test has yet to be performed, everything else supposedly checks out. No word when they'll meet, but Correy is definitely looking forward to it happening soon.

"I pray this is really my birth mother...Everytime I watch this I envision myself there," he tweeted, linking to a Brazilian news report about them.
