Shay Mitchell Teases Pretty Little Liars' Deadly Halloween Special and Emily's Love Life!

Exclusive! "If Toby really is ‘A’ then the girls have to watch out," actress teases of the girls' new threat on the ABC Family hit series

When it comes to Pretty Little Liars highly anticipated Halloween special "This Is a Dark Ride," airing tonight at 8 p.m., we're pretty sure viewers are in for both. While the ABC Family series will surely provide us with crazy costumes and cute couple moments, we're positive the show will also throw us some crazy plot twists, cliffhangers, and oh yeah, a major death!

We chatted with Pretty Little Liars star Shay Mitchell about tonight's spooky outing, the fallout from the big Toby (Keegan Allen) twist and what's next for Emily and Paige (Lindsey Shaw)...

Of course, the girls start off the Halloween special, which Mitchell calls "one of her favorite" episodes, with the good intentions, but we all know which road is paved with those. "The girls are all really excited, especially after the cliffhanger, with the whole Emily and Nate [thing]. They're dealing with a lot, so I think they all want to let loose," Mitchell says. "A Halloween celebration is kind of the perfect way, or so they think until they actually get on the ghost train and realize 'A' might be on that as well."

In the mid-season finale, it was revealed that Toby, a fan favorite character, was on the "A" Team, which Shay says, is "an interesting twist because the audience knows, but the girls still don't. It's kind of like, 'What's he going to do? Are they going to find out?'" Alas, she does offer up a sliver of hope for all the Toby and Spencer (Troian Bellisario) fans out there as she teases, "If Toby really is 'A' then the girls have to watch out." ("If" = hope in our books, y'all!)

As for Emily's love life, Mitchell has high hopes for her relationship with Paige. "I hope Emily is going to have a smooth relationship. She needs one solid thing in her life because everything else has just kind of gone to shambles," she explains. "I love her relationship with Paige. I think it's so sweet and it's just nice to have that extra support outside of Emily's friends and family. I hope that it continues. We'll have to see. There might be a couple of things that try and get in the way with that, but I think for the most part Emily will be quite happy…hopefully!"
