Turn off the lights and break out the costumes because it's time for Halloween!

While we love free candy as much the next person, that's not our favorite thing about the holiday; we're all about the spooky fun TV shows decide to have, dressing our favorite characters up in ridiculous costumes and/or scaring the bejeezus out of us. We've compiled a list of the best Halloween episodes and specials you should be checking out this week:

Pretty Little Liars: You thought the ABC Family hit's last Halloween special was awesome? You haven't seen anything yet! Not only is Adam Lambert guest-starring in the special, set to air tomorrow night, but a major death is going to rock Rosewood (and the fanbase)!

American Horror Story: If there's one Halloween episode that's not to be Missed, it's American Horror Story's. The show is basically Halloween porn, you know? In the FX hit's Oct. 31 outing (nice timing), Sister Jude (Jessica Lange) institutes a movie night to calm Briarcliff's inmates when a nor'easter hits. Too bad she might be the one who needs to be calmed down when she received a delivery that dredges up old demons.

Fox's Comedy Block of Hilarious Horror: Asking us to highlight just one of the network's hilarious sitcoms is like putting out an entire bowl of candy and asking us to take just one. You can't and we won't. On Tuesday, Oct. 30, Fox will air Halloween-themed episodes of Raising Hope, Ben and Kate, New Girl and The Mindy Project a.k.a. two hours of laughs and awesome costumes.

Modern Family: No one does the spooky holiday quite like the Pritchetts! On Wednesday, Claire (Julie Bowen) attempts to tone it down and keep things "kid-friendly," while Mitch (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) and Cam (Eric Stonestreet) host a costume party. Oh, and Gloria (Sofia Vergara) dresses like a sexy (pregnant) alien.

Mockingbird Lane Pilot: Color us ridiculously, insanely, stupidly excited to watch NBC's reboot of The Munsters, starring Eddie Izzard, Portia de Rossi and Jerry O'Connell, which they decided to air as a Halloween special on Friday, Oct. 26 (to be followed by Grimm). We admit, we're suckers for staying in on a Friday night, popcorn bowl in lap, for a good old-fashioned TV special. Well played, NBC.

Hart of Dixie: Taking the most adorably wacky TV town title from Gilmore Girls, we're excited to see Halloween in Bluebell, especially when it involves Wade (Wilson Bethel) in a tux and George (Scott Porter) dressed a fireman.

Up All Night, Parks and Recreation and The Office: Sean Hayes, Stephen Colbert, Ron Swanson (Nick Offerman) go trick-or-treating, a couple makes a big decision and Meredith (Kate Flannery) dresses as Black Widow. What else do you need from your Thursday-night (Oct. 25) NBC comedies? Absolutely nothing.

(E! and NBC are both part of the NBCUniversal family.)
