NBC has officially axed Animal Practice.

After declining ratings (it was down 9 percent again last night) it's time for Crystal the monkey to hang up her lab coat.

And it turns out that the comedy that will take the Wednesday night slot is a familiar one.

Whitney will join the lineup starting Nov. 14 (we were sort of hoping it would be Community, too). Meanwhile, NBC's freshman comedy Guys With Kids lives to see another week.

During Animal Practice's save or sink it poll, 54 percent of you were into the Justin Kirk comedy. Thoughts now that the Crane Animal Hospital is shut down permanently?
