Country crooner Jason Aldean is still trying to deal with the consequences of his recent cheating scandal.

The married singer and father of two, who was spotted kissing 24-year-old American Idol alum Brittany Kerr a couple weeks ago, told E! News that he and his family are trying to move past the "unfortunate" situation.

"When it comes to fame, obviously you take the good with the bad," he said at the NBC Experience Store today in New York City while promoting his upcoming album Night Train, which drops tomorrow.

"Family's good, we're workin' through it," Aldean told us. "We're tryin' to move on, that's the biggest thing. And, hopefully, people will allow us the privacy to do that—and that's kinda it."

When the photos first surfaced on the Internet, Aldean offered a public apology via his Facebook page, saying, "The truth is that I screwed up. I had too much to drink, let the party get out of hand and acted inappropriately at a bar. I left alone, caught the bus to our next show and that's the end of the story. I ultimately ended up embarrassing my family and myself. I'm not perfect, and I'm sorry for disappointing you guys. I really appreciate being able to work through this privately with my family and for all your continued support."
