With the holidays fast approaching, entertaining at home is likely on your agenda. While the thought of food preparation, decorating and creating an inviting ambiance is certainly overwhelming, we're here to help!

We recently caught up with hostess extraordinaire, Lisa Vanderpump, who gave us her three golden rules for hosting an elegant house party with ease:

Pippa Middleton writes a book on entertaining

1. Prepare food beforehand. "This is a great way to make sure you can maximize time with your guests," she explains. If you have food prepped and ready to go, you can focus more on your friends and less on the menu.

2. Make things beautiful. If there's one thing the celebrated interior designer and restauranteur knows, it's creating a chic and inviting space. "It's all about the ambiance! Creating an environment where your guests feel comfortable is half the battle!"

3. Keep calm and carry on! Lisa said that people tend to "get frantic" when they're entertaining and this classic British motto is a great one to adhere to. "The party is going to happen one way or another and stressing out doesn't help anyone or anything!" she advised.

So, there you have it! Do you have any tips to add to this list?
