The 8 Mile star has been charged with misdemeanor assault after allegedly roughing up her personal assistant at the posh Dream Downtown Hotel in Manhattan early Thursday.
Police sources tell E! News that the incident occurred at approximately 5 a.m. yesterday when the 33-year-old Manning punched and kicked the 23-year-old woman—who's the thesp's hairdresser—causing scratches and bruises to the latter's face and neck. She also allegedly grabbed the victim by the throat.
No other information was available. But this was the same hotel, by the way, where Lindsay Lohan was alleged to have swiped a bystander with her car last month.
A rep for Manning wasn't available for comment.
The actress is perhaps best known for playing Eminem's girlfriend in the 2002 hit 8 Mile, along with notable roles in Cold Mountain, White Oleander and Hustle & Flow. The actress-singer also had recurring parts in such TV series as Sons of Anarchy and Hawaii Five-0 and released her debut solo album, Freedom City, last month.
