Kirk Cameron

Kirk Cameron is a man of conviction.

The erstwhile Growing Pains star stood behind controversial anti-gay comments he made during an appearance this past spring on Piers Morgan's show, in which he called homosexuality "detrimental and destructive."

Speaking to students recently at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va., he said, "Sometimes when a Christian is asked a question and has a conviction about not backing down and wussing out and being honest about who he is and whose he is, it can get you into some hot water. It seems that I hit the side of a hornet's nest."

Right on about that.

Here's what else went down last night:

Stevie's Sorry: Singer Stevie Nicks apologized for her comment about strangling Nicki Minaj. She's just protective of Mariah Carey

Broken Record: Once again, folks, The Bachelorette's Emily Maynard and Jef Holm are not breaking up

T. Swift's Tales of the Heart: Rolling Stone's latest cover girl Taylor Swift opens up about love (shocking) and the whole kidnapping Conor Kennedy debacle.

TV Scoop: Actor Matt Bomer is going to guest-star on The New Normal. Guess what character he's going to play.

Hug It Out: Actress Lindsay Lohan and mom Dina Lohan became besties again after a blowout fight involving the cops.

Bane's Back: Just because The Dark Knight is over doesn't mean the characters are long gone. South Park brought Bane back into the scene Wednesday night when Randy got a mask to use against a UPS man who Kyle believes is sleeping with his mom.

Really Bad News: Bad News Bears remake actress Sammi Kane Kraft died in a car accident Tuesday. She was 20 years old.
